Prime Minister Modi Invites Vaccine Manufacturers To Make In India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly traversed a range of issues from the Covid-19 pandemic, to the Afghanistan crisis and India’s growing heft in technology innovations.

Alongside, the Prime Minister emphasised the need to strengthen the credibility of the United Nations, over which several questions have been raised in recent times. “If we have to keep the UN relevant, then it has to improve its reliability, said Modi, citing instances surrounding the pandemic, proxy wars in parts of the world and the climate crisis.

The Prime Minister detailed efforts being taken in India towards the development of Covid-19 vaccines. “Come; Make in India,” Prime Minister said to vaccine manufacturers from the UNGA stage.

He also called for development that is all-inclusive, universal and one that nurtures all. “When India grows the world grows, when India reforms, the world transforms,” he added.
