Adam Sandler is setting the record straight about what went down in the viral TikTok video that shows him leaving an IHOP restaurant.
In a video posted to TikTok a few weeks ago, TikTok user Dayanna Rodan, 17, shared security footage from her job at an IHOP in Long Island, New York, showing her interacting with the 54-year-old actor — albeit unknowingly due to his face-mask.
Rodan told Sandler it would be a 30-minute wait to get a table and, due to the wait time, the Grown Ups star left politely.
“Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him ofc leaving bc hes not going to wait 30mins for IHOP,” Rodan wrote in the video, and captioned it with “Pleaseee come back.”
Currently, the video has 11.1 million views.
Sandler has now responded to Rodan, taking to Twitter to joke: “For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.”
Sandler, who was with his daughter at the time of the IHOP interaction, has a reputation for being kind to servers according to comments on Rodas’ TikTok video.
“I used to serve him regularly. Never served a nicer person,” said TikTok user Drew Talbert.
Another user commented: “At least he didn’t use his fame to rush anything he left like a normal person would”.
Rodas has since spoken to Inside Edition, laughing “That just proves the point that you never know who might come into IHOP!”
