Best TV Theme Songs: Richard Wilkins counts down the Top 10 opening credits viewers love


Streaming giants these days give viewers the option to ‘skip intro’, when in fact the show’s theme song can add to our viewing pleasure.

We yabba-dabba-doo-ed to The Flinstones and hung out with The Fonz on Sunday, Monday, Happy Days — why would you want to skip these catchy opening credits?

Cinema-goers had their say when it came to the modern-day movie remake of The Addams Family.

Producers reportedly tried to ditch its catchy theme song because apparently, it was outdated. But early test screenings showed viewers were still all about that song, so it was reinstated at the start of the film prior to its 1991 premiere.

Happy Days tells the story of the Cunninghams, one of America's most beloved TV families played by Marion Ross (Marion), Tom Bosley (Howard), Erin Moran (Joanie), and Ron Howard (Richie), and Richie's friends Donny Most (Ralph), Anson Williams (Potsie), Gavan O'Herlihy.
