CDC Now Says Masks Should Be Worn Indoors Regardless Of Vaccination Status—Also Confirms The Fully Vaccinated Can Spread The Delta Variant – The Shade Room

Roommates, during a recent interview, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky confirmed that even those who have been fully vaccinated can still spread the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19. Her comments come just after the CDC reversed its mask recommendations for indoor use, now urging everyone (regardless of vaccination status) to wear masks at all times while indoors.

While speaking with CNN host John Berman, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, explained that the decision to reinstate the mask guideline was due to new scientific discoveries that now reveal that those who are fully vaccinated with the Delta variant of COVID-19 can pass the virus to those who are not vaccinated.

Dr. Walensky elaborated on her statement, saying:

“Here’s the new science that we saw just in the last several days. With prior variants, when people had these rare breakthrough infections, we didn’t see the capacity of them to spread the virus to others, but with the Delta variant, we now see in our outbreak investigations that have been occurring over the last couple of weeks, in those outbreak investigations we have been seeing that if you happen to have one of those breakthrough infections, that you can actually now pass it to somebody else.”

The CDC’s new stance comes after a number of cities across the country have reinstated their previous masks mandates, including Los Angeles and Atlanta, which are seeing an alarming number of new COVID-19 cases.
