Gal Gadot’s husband and kids all have cameos in the new Wonder Woman movie

Entertainment:

The latest instalment in the Wonder Woman franchise hit cinemas across Australia on Boxing Day, after being delayed thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.

While the movie’s lead actress, Gal Gadot, is a major drawcard for many viewers, not many people noticed that her whole family were a part of the film as well.

The 35-year-old actress revealed in a recent interview that her husband Yaron Versano and their two kids Alma, nine, and Maya, two, are all featured in one special scene.

“It meant a lot, especially in that very special scene,” Gadot said.

“To have them captured in the film with me, because they are a part of it, meant a lot, and it’s an amazing, amazing souvenir that we will forever cherish.”

They appear right at the end of the movie –– at the 2:22 mark during the Christmas scene, you can see nine-year-old Alma throwing a snowball and accidentally hitting Diana. The boy she’s throwing snowballs with is the son of Patty Jenkins, the film’s director.

A few minutes later, you can see Gadot’s husband standing next to their two-year-old daughter while she rides a merry-go-round, seconds before the film ends.

While Gadot has shone as the film’s leading lady, director Patty Jenkins told 9Honey Celebrity that she almost wasn’t cast, despite being the first choice to play Wonder Woman.

“She was already cast for Batman v Superman by Zac Snyder. So when I heard she had been cast, I almost had a heart attack because I was so picky about who would play Wonder Woman. But, oh my god, is she the best person ever. It was the luckiest thing to ever happen to me that Gal and I got put together on this project.”

Wonder Woman 1984 follows Diana Prince (AKA Wonder Woman) as she works as a senior anthropologist. Her new hire, Barbara Ann Minerva, played by Kristen Wiig, develops a deep admiration for her which drives her to pursue superhuman abilities of her own.

Jenkins intention with the sequel was to make a movie that delivers “a bit of everything.”

“I aimed not to just make a superhero film, not just make an action film,” she told 9Honey Celebrity.
