According to a new report, Joe “charged” Luis amid an argument prompted by allegations against his wife, Melissa Gorga, who was reportedly accused of cheating during production, and he ultimately had to be “fully separated” from his now-brother-in-law.
“Joe charged at Luis during filming after long-simmering tensions came to a head,” an insider told The Sun on August 8. “Luis was upset that [Joe’s wife] Melissa unfairly blamed Teresa for spreading rumors about her marriage. But Teresa and Luis only talked to Joe about these rumors off camera to protect them.”
Joe and Luis “had to be fully restrained by security” amid filming on the episode, a second source added. “Somehow a physical brawl broke out, but security stopped it from escalating further.”
While things between the couples have remained tense, with Joe and Melissa noticeably absent from Teresa and Luis’ wedding, the newlyweds are focusing their attention on their future as they prepare to jet off on a romantic honeymoon.
“[Luis] and Teresa had a fairy tale wedding and now they are embarking on a fairy tale honeymoon,” a source close to Teresa told PEOPLE. “They are looking forward to spending some quiet time together and celebrate one another as husband and wife.”
And although Teresa and Luis’ honeymoon will not be filmed for her rumored four-episode wedding special, the longtime RHONJ cast member will be heading back to work as soon as she returns home to New Jersey.
“Teresa and co-host Melissa Pfeister [current host of the Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister podcast] are launching a podcast [September 21] where they will be having candid conversations about life, love, fashion, family and much more,” the source shared.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is expected to return to Bravo for season 13 later this year or early next year, followed by the airing of Teresa and Luis’ special.
