RHOBH Alum Teddi Mellencamp Contradicts Sutton Stracke’s Gun Story, Claims Sutton Called Erika “White Trash”

Entertainment:

On a recent episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, castmates reacted to Dorit Kemsley’s terrifying home invasion. Although most of the women seemed shocked, Sutton Stracke was preoccupied with her own issues. When Kyle Richards called her out, Sutton sarcastically apologized for not being “held at gunpoint.”

According to Sutton, this insensitive remark was a result of her issues with “guns,” which stems from two traumatic events in her past. “My house was broken into when I was 14 years old so there’s that. My father shot himself in the head so there’s that,” explained Sutton on the show.

Teddi Mellencamp, however, has a story which contradicts Sutton’s claims. For this reason, Teddi was unable to take some of Sutton’s scenes at face value.

“When I see Sutton say in the confessional ‘you know for me, I have a history with guns, I have a real issue with guns,’ then my mind goes back to the season that I was on with Sutton, where they never showed it, where Sutton called Erika and I white trash and she said she grew up hunting and using guns and blah, blah, blah,” said Teddi on her podcast, “Two T’s In A Pod”, via Heavy.

According to Teddi’s story, Sutton had said, “‘Just because I’m not from like the white trash places where you guys are, we could get license at 15 to drive a tractor.’”

When her co-host Tamra Judge (from Real Housewives of Orange County) asked why the footage never aired, Teddi explained, “[Producers] don’t show those types of things, especially your first season.” Although Teddi doesn’t seem to believe her former colleague, she thinks Sutton “is good television.”

In September of last year, Teddi pointed out another supposed contradiction: Sutton’s sudden interest in Erika Jayne’s legal issues (In the past, Sutton suggested that her friendship with Erika might hurt Sutton’s reputation).

“Nobody was grilling [Sutton] about all of these personal details before, they were just letting it be. Nobody knew who Sutton was before ‘Real Housewives,’” said Teddi on Us Weekly’s “Getting Real with the Housewives” podcast. “If you’re really concerned about your reputation, if you want to uphold, like, an amazing reputation and all of the charities you’re in and all the things, you don’t go on ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ … So that argument is a little flawed for me.”

Sutton is a common source of drama on RHOBH, but the Southern belle, it seems, is only interested when she can control it (i.e. with Erika Jayne). Sutton’s slip-up after the robbery, however, is quickly falling from her grasp.
