The Australian acting community pays tribute to Dieter Brummer following his death at 45

The Australian acting community is paying tribute to Home and Away star Dieter Brummer, who has died at the age of 45.

The Logie winner’s death was confirmed on July 26 after police found him at his home in Glenhaven over the weekend. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Brummer, best known for playing Shane Parrish on the soap, left a huge impact on the cast of the show.

Kristy Wright, who starred as Chloe Richards in the series, shared a photo on Instagram and wrote, “I don’t have any words right now but my heart is screaming. You’re finally free. Rest In Peace my darling Dieter.”

Dieter Brummer and Melissa George (pictured) played the loved-up Shane and Angel on the soap.

Laura Vasquez, who portrayed Sarah O’Neale on Home and Away from 1993 until 1995 and again in 2005, and is now the show’s head of hair and makeup, posted her own tribute to the actor on Instagram.

“There are no words 💔 RIP my friend Dieter. It’s a really sad day 😢 You are now at Peace,” she wrote.

Debra Lawrence, who played Pippa Fletcher, also paid tribute.

“Vale our beautiful Dieter Brummer. Such desperately sad news. Dieter was a golden presence in Home and Away, much loved and very much part of the family,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“My heart goes out to his family and friends during this painfully difficult time.”

Georgie Parker left a comment on an Instagram post and called Brummer’s passing “such sad news.”

“Such a lovely man and a good actor too,” she wrote. “Much love to his family and loved ones at this terribly difficult time.”
