WARNING GRAPHIC AND RACIST LANGUAGE
Ernie Dingo has revealed the sick extent of abuse and threats he’s received as thanks for his efforts to help break down the stigma surrounding vaccines among remote Indigenous communities.
In a tweet posted to his account on Thursday afternoon Dingo shared the latest very personal attack made on not just himself, but also his twin sons – aged just 6 – in a brutal new low for his detractors.
“Yep, just when you think those f..ktards go any lower, they do,” tweeted The Great Outdoors host.
The full details and wording in of the screenshot of the abuse contained in Dingo’s tweet are too explicit to reprint and have been paraphrased for readers.
“You just participated in the biggest massacre in Australia’s history since 1970. Hope you got paid well to wipe out the mob,” the abuser wrote.
“Your precious twins will suffer and you will live to watch them fade away. So shall it be!!!!”
The vile attack on Dingo, a Yamitji man from WA’s Murchison region, is just the latest in a flurry of abuse hurled at him from anti-vaxxers while on a tour of northern WA in an attempt to help boost lagging Indigenous vaccination rates.
Dedicated anti-vax social media groups are understood to have been attempting to track the actor during the two-month Federal Government-funded trip.
Promoting genocide in exchange for … paper notes, this will be your legacy Ernie Dingo.
Death threats and horrific racial abuse have been directed at Dingo in the groups, some of which have thousands of members.
One declared the Great Outdoors host was a “traitor against your own people”.
“Promoting genocide in exchange for … paper notes, this will be your legacy Ernie Dingo,” wrote another.
As of November 23, 71.9 per cent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders people aged over 16 have had at least their first dose and 60 per cent have been fully vaccinated.
