Fanny Lumsden has cleaned up at the Golden Guitar Awards in Tamworth, taking home five gongs including album of the year.

Lumsden was named female artist of the year, while her album Fallow won album of the year and alt-country album of the year.

The singer-songwriter from Tallimba in NSW’s central west also claimed single of the year for her song Fierce and best music video for Mountain Song/This Too Shall Pass, co-directed by her husband Dan Stanley Freeman.

Lumsden was feted in a low-key celebration at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre, with COVID-19 restrictions forcing organisers to limit spectator numbers and implement a virtual red carpet.

Executive producer Peter Ross said the 49th instalment of the awards had been unlike anything organisers had ever envisaged.

“Delivered as a fully COVID-safe event, the easy option would have been to cancel the show,” he said.

“But it was this year more than ever that we truly needed to demonstrate our strength and celebrate the continued success of this industry, and we have been proud to be able to do so.”

Travis Collins was named male artist of the year for his album Wreck Me and Shane Nicholson claimed song of the year for The High Price of Surviving.
