Man charged over brutal bikie shootings

A man has been charged over two shootings believed to be bikie-related, that left the victims badly injured.

One of the victims was shot in the groin with a shotgun.

Western Australia police arrested a 31-year-old man on Thursday in the Dawesville area south of Perth.

He faces charges including wrongful possession of a firearm and grievous bodily harm.


The first shooting took place in a cemetery on 16 August last year and allegedly involved a man known to the shooter who later required surgery for his injuries.

Then on Monday, it’s alleged the accused went with two other people to a Port Kennedy property in a grey Holden Commodore.

He allegedly exited the vehicle and approached a man at the address, firing a shotgun into his leg and groin area leaving him with severe injuries.

The victim remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Gang Crime Squad detectives were involved in tracking down the shooter who it is believed has ties to outlaw motorcycle gangs.

He appeared in the Rockingham Magistrates Court today and was remanded in custody to reappear on 18 February.

Detectives are still working to establish if anyone else was involved in the shootings.
