Hart to Heart: Season 2 on the horizon

Kevin Hart is one of the most prolific comedians in the world. We’re used to seeing him doing stand up routines or acting in films but we rarely see him not switched on. We never see him in his house doing normal things like making a sandwich or playing poker online. But with his brand new show, we’re invited into his home to sit with him and the person he’s interviewing.

Hart to Heart is a chance, not only to get to know the celebrities Kevin Hart interviews a little better, but also to get to know him. He’s still hilarious but there’s a much more personal feel to the show. But before we get into that, let’s learn a little bit more about Kevin.

Kevin Hart’s background

Kevin was born and raised in Philadelphia with his older brother Robert. He was raised by his mother who was a hugely positive influence on his life. Unfortunately, Kevin’s father suffered from addiction issues but he says that this is what turned him onto comedy.

Kevin used jokes and humor as a way to deal with the pain that his father’s addiction caused him and his family. Thankfully their relationship was mended once Kevin’s father overcame his struggle with addiction and they now have a positive relationship.

When the time came to go to college, Kevin spent a brief time at the Community College of Philadelphia before dropping out. He decided to pursue stand up but didn’t get off to the best start.

Under the stage name Lil Kev, he performed at The Laff House in Philadelphia but it didn’t go as well as he’d hoped. He was booed off stage and even had a piece of chicken thrown at him by one unimpressed audience member.

But once he got his rhythm, his act took off and he began touring in 2009 with his act ‘I’m a Grown Little Man’. After that, Kevin’s comedy career really took off and he’s only been gaining popularity ever since.

Kevin Hart’s TV and movie career

Once Kevin had taken over the comedy circuit, making TV shows and movies for platforms online seemed like the next logical step. He had already done a couple of TV shows prior to his comedy career taking off but Hollywood level roles came in after his performance in The Five-Year Engagement.

He had a cameo as himself in the comedy disaster movie This Is the End in 2013, proving that he doesn’t have to act to be funny. He went on to star in many other movies and even did some voice acting in the critically acclaimed Secret Life of Pets and its sequel.

Kevin’s success in the industry was so extensive that he decided to set up his own production company HartBeat Productions. He produced his first film back in 2018 called Night School.

Hart to Heart Season 1

After successfully hosting many award shows, Kevin decided it was time to have his own show. Interview shows are always popular as it gives audiences a chance to connect on a more personal level with their favorite stars. With Kevin being a star himself as a host, it’s no wonder there’s such a star studded line up.

But Kevin didn’t want this to be any old interview set up with pre-approved questions – Kevin didn’t even want to prepare any questions himself. He wanted to create a relaxed environment and have his guests round for a chat. This makes us and the guests feel more at home and as an audience, it feels like you’ve been invited into their world.

Season one started with a bang as it saw guests such as Miley Cyrus, Taraji P. Henson and Kelly Clarkson. The lack of pre-prepared questions means that there is a much more natural flow of conversation and gives the show authenticity.

The first season received some mixed reviews online with its IMDB rating settling at a modest 5.2 out of 10. However, reviews only tell us so much – it’s all about whether people at home enjoy it or not. And as it was renewed for another season, we can safely assume they enjoyed it!

Hart to Heart season two

This next season of Hart to Heart premiered on the 14th of July 2022 with Kevin interviewing fellow comedian Pete Davidson. It’s streaming on Peacock and each new episode will be released on Thursdays.

And if you thought the first series was full of stars, just wait and see what’s in store for this season! Season two of Hart to Heart will see guests such as Saweetie, Tracee Ellis Ross, Mike Tyson, Chris Rock, Kristen Stewart, Seth Macfarlane, Simu Liu, Tyler Perry and the one and only Jay-Z.

Jay-Z rarely does interviews these days so this episode will be particularly special for any fans out there. It will be especially interesting to see him in an interview situation that’s so off the cuff and unscripted. If there’s one episode you should try out, it’s got to be that one.

It looks like we’ll keep seeing even more of Kevin Hart in the future as this show is surely set to take the world by storm. Make sure you don’t miss out from more news online! Catch up on season one today if you haven’t seen it already and get ready for new episodes of season two every Thursday.
