Great Britain hockey legend Alex Danson is set to host masterclasses for young people living in Sutton.
The course is being delivered by the Alex Danson Hockey Academy, which works in partnership with award-winning leisure provider Everyone Active.
The Rio 2016 gold medallist will visit Wimbledon Hockey Club as part of a seven-leg trip around the country.
Young people, between the ages of 11 to 18, will be offered the chance to take part in a day of activities including skills sessions and a Q&A with Alex.
Alex, who won more than 306 caps combined for Great Britain and England during a glittering career, will be assisted by her team of professional coaches.
She will also be joined by a string of star names, including four-times Olympian Barry Middleton, Team GB and England’s most capped player with a combined 432 appearances.
Triple European bronze medallist Beckie Middleton, who accumulated 104 Great Britain and England caps during her career, will also be present, as will current England international Catherine Ledesma and England youth player Andy Ward.
Alex said: “I am passionate about helping youngsters to achieve their potential and that is exactly what these Masterclasses are all about.
“We want to give young players from all backgrounds the opportunity to develop their skills and to inspire them to be the best they can be.
“I am really looking forward to seeing what talent is coming through in Sutton.”
Jacqui Tillman, Everyone Active’s head of sport and aquatics, said: “We are delighted to continue our work with Alex Danson and partner with Wimbledon Hockey Club on this fantastic event.
“We know Alex and her coaches will give brilliant coaching and advice and we hope the youngsters really enjoy their day.”
