Centre Court has been acquired by a property and development group with the hopes to bring more life to the shopping centre.
SW London-based property group Romulus, target increased demand for locally based mixed use community hubs.
Romulus are currently developing plans to reinvigorate Centre Court and say they are eager to engage with Wimbledon residents and businesses for suggestions on its future.
The company own and manage over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial spaces across London, with a particular focus on prime neighbourhood hubs including Hammersmith, Fulham and now Wimbledon.
Centre Court Shopping Centre, located adjacent to Wimbledon station, opened its doors in 1992 and is currently home to over 65 brands such as H&M, M&S, Oliver Bonas, and Whittard, as well as independent bar and restaurant 601 Queen’s Road.
Speaking about the recent acquisition of Centre Court, Alex Woolf, Strategy Director at Romulus said: “we are very excited to be working on our plans to re-establish Centre Court at the heart of the Wimbledon community.
“As part of this we will be listening closely to local residents and businesses.”
Romulus have successfully transformed some of London’s landmark sites such as 30 Cannon Street, 3 Shortlands, and is currently carrying out a mixed use project at the Fulham Centre on Fulham Broadway.
