But there is one other historical attraction in the area that sees thousands come through its doors every month.
The area is home to one of the oldest Pie shops in London, Goddard’s at Greenwich, which has been around for over 100 years, since 1890.
Although locals might be familiar with the brilliant pies and yummy mash on offer in the brilliant restaurant, there are many that are yet to discover Goddard’s pies.
However, popular food influencer South East Foodies is a helping hand that shares the fantastic and delicious places on offer across London, Sussex and Kent, with Goddard’s having earnt their approval.
Goddard at Greenwich named must try by viral Instagrammer
First posted back in March 2021, the foodies described Goddard’s as “true authentic cockney food at its finest!”
In the posted video they showed the restaurant’s traditional dark green colours with white tiled walls, long pew-styled seating and Victorian-style aesthetic. There’s even a sign for jellied eels, to keep in line with the restaurant’s routes.
You can see workers using their magic to create the much-loved pies as writing pops up saying “this is old school London at its best.”
With a shot of their smooth mash and scrumptious pies South East Foodies writes “whatever you choose make sure you get it with traditional liquor.”
Goddard’s has a page of their own showing their handmade traditional pie mash and liquor along with their merchandise.
On their page, they show off their array of flavours from traditional chicken and mushroom, steak and kidney, minced beef, root vegetables and more.
Alongside their traditional tastes, they also offer more exotic flavours including chicken and Balti, steak and chorizo, Tuscan bean, peppered steak, and veggie soya mince.
