Who’s Playing

Toronto @ Washington

Current Records: Toronto 21-21; Washington 23-22

What to Know

The Washington Wizards are 7-22 against the Toronto Raptors since November of 2015, but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Friday. The Wizards will play host again and welcome Toronto to Capital One Arena, where tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. These two teams are looking to take out their frustrations on one another after having lost close ones recently.

Washington was just a bucket shy of a victory on Wednesday and fell 119-118 to the Brooklyn Nets. A silver lining for Washington was the play of shooting guard Bradley Beal, who had 23 points and nine assists.

Speaking of close games: it was close but no cigar for Toronto as they fell 102-98 to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The losing side was boosted by small forward OG Anunoby, who had 19 points along with eight rebounds. Anunoby had some trouble finding his footing against the Miami Heat on Monday, so this was a step in the right direction.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Washington is expected to win a tight contest. But bettors beware: they are only 7-15 against the spread when favored.
