2020 NFL win totals, odds, predictions, best bets: Top model picks under 7.5 wins for Raiders

News Post || News Now

The Baltimore Ravens set a franchise record last season, finishing with 14 victories by going on a storybook run after splitting their first four games. Lamar Jackson took home the NFL MVP award after throwing a league-high 36 touchdown passes and finishing sixth in rushing with a team-best 1,206 yards. Jackson had a less-than-spectacular performance in Baltimore’s loss to Tennessee in the AFC Divisional Round and will be looking to atone for that in an offense that was tops in the NFL last season (530 yards).

The Ravens also added pass rusher Calais Campbell to 2019’s second-ranked defense and are projected to record 11.5 wins in the latest 2020 NFL odds from William Hill. But which teams should you back with your picks on 2020 NFL win totals? Before making any NFL picks on 2020 season-long win totals, be sure to see the latest NFL predictions from SportsLine’s proven computer model

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times and has crushed human experts on a consistent basis. Since its 2015 inception, the model is up over $7,000 for $100 players on its top-rated NFL picks.

And when it comes to NFL win totals, the model is coming off another banner year. In 2019, it went 18-11 on its over-under picks, with three pushes.

Now, the model has generated each team’s projected win total, and in many cases it’s strikingly different than the Vegas line. You can head to SportsLine to see the picks.

The model’s top 2020 NFL win total predictions

The model says oddsmakers were mistaken when releasing 7.5 wins for Las Vegas. It recommends going under since it has the Raiders notching 6.1 victories.

The Raiders recorded seven wins in their final season in Oakland in 2019, their highest total in three years. With the team moving to Sin City this year, Derek Carr will be looking over his shoulder after the Raiders signed former Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, who lost his starting job with Tennessee last season. Carr threw for over 4,000 yards for the second straight year in 2019,  while Mariota failed to reach 3,500 in any of his five NFL campaigns.

Las Vegas also signed veteran tight end Jason Witten, who returned from a year of retirement to record 63 catches for 529 yards and four touchdowns with Dallas last year. The Raiders already have a budding star at the position in Darren Waller, who broke out in 2019 after three nondescript seasons to lead the team in receptions (90) and receiving yards (1,145), and also boast capable backups like Foster Moreau and Derek Carrier, leaving no real need for Witten.

How to make 2020 NFL win total picks

The model also generated huge disparities on other teams, including the Eagles. Philadelphia posted nine wins a year ago and saw a full 16-game season from quarterback Carson Wentz. Oddsmakers set Philly’s 2020 win total at 9.5, and the projection model has a strong opinion on the team’s fortunes. You can see every projected win total for every team right here.
