Richmond Country Farms’ pumpkin patch offers fall fun

News Today || Canada News |

Richmond Country Farms’ pumpkin patch is a family-friendly event enjoyed annually by many people. But like many seasonal activities this year, it will look a little different due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Guests must pre-purchase tickets online for one of two experiences: the wagon experience (ride-out) or the “pumpkin promenade” (walk-out).

The walk-out experience gives guests access to the corn maze as well as food vendors. Masks are mandatory for check-in, but optional once in the fields. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on-leash, and owners are asked to bring waste bags to clean up after their dog if necessary.

The ride-out experience transports visitors to the pumpkin patch on a tractor-drawn wagon with an entertainer. Physical distancing measures are in place during the wagon ride, and masks are mandatory for all riders.

Both experiences allow visitors to bring home a pumpkin of their choice. But Richmond Country Farms recommends walk-out customers bring a wagon of their own to haul pumpkins back to the entrance.

Unfortunately, the pandemic prevents the farm from offering wheelchair access to the pumpkin field this year. The miniature train and live band will not be operating this year.

All guests are reminded to wear appropriate footwear and clothing, as fields are frequently wet and muddy in October. All tickets are final sale.
