Trump Sticks It to 60 Minutes, Posts Whiny, Pathetic Interview Early

Entertainment:

Earlier this week, Donald Trump abruptly ended an interview with CBS’s Lesley Stahl that was scheduled to air this Sunday on 60 Minutes. Shortly thereafter, he refused to return for a segment with Mike Pence, posted creepy footage of Stahl that appeared to have been recorded without her knowledge, and threatened to release the interview early. And on Thursday, he did!

Unfortunately for the president, the stunt failed to accomplish whatever he was going for by preempting the network, unless what he was going for was giving Americans an early look at what a whiny, lying man-child he is. In which case, bravo.

The raw footage begins with Stahl asking Trump if he’s ready for tough questions, which apparently he was not:

From there, Trump answers the question “what is your biggest domestic priority?” by talking about how great the economy was before the pandemic drove it off a cliff, and he was not happy to be questioned on his claim that he “created the greatest economy in the history of our country.” When Stahl tells him “You know that’s not true,” he snaps “That’s totally true…you wouldn’t say that to Biden if he’d had that.”

Unsurprisingly, he did not appreciate a question about crowd sizes:

Later, pressed about the rising number of COVID-19 cases throughout the country, Trump repeats his usual nonsense about how cases are only rising in the U.S. because we’re doing so much testing, which of course is entirely false. Stahl notes that it’s not accurate for Trump to say we‘ve “turned the corner on the pandemic” and that people can see for themselves that the situation is getting worse, to which Trump responds, “That’s right, we have turned the corner.” Asked about begging suburban women to like him, Trump flies off the handle and insists that he was totally joking on the numerous occasions he’s done that, which he definitely was not:

Asked about calling Dr. Anthony Fauci an idiot, Trump unsurprisingly claimed it never happened:

Asked about his alleged health care plan, he lied some more:

Then he denied encouraging the crowds at his rallies to chant about sending people to prison, claiming, “They say it, it’s not me.” Except:

Throughout the interview, Trump accuses Stahl of “protecting” Biden and insists that a lot of her questions are “inappropriately brought up.” “You’re president,” she responds. “Don’t you think you should be accountable to the American people?” Obviously, the answer is no:
